Sylvia's Gumbo Event 2024

 Last October, our community came together for a memorable Breast Cancer Awareness event filled with music, food, and fellowship. The Kinfolk Brass Band and other local performers lit up the day with inspiring live performances, honoring the strength and resilience of women who have triumphed over breast cancer. Sylvia’s Gumbo played a special role in supporting women currently fighting this illness by donating funds to help ease financial burdens, and one lucky survivor received a special cash donation as a symbol of love and encouragement. Guests enjoyed three delicious varieties of gumbo, with pre-orders for half-gallons available on site and larger pre-orders opening the week after the event. The celebration also featured exciting door prizes, including three Lake Pontchartrain Pleasure Cruises, making the gathering both meaningful and uplifting. Together, we celebrated survivorship, supported those still fighting, and reinforced our community’s commitment to breast cancer awareness.
